We are an independent Statutory Authority established under the Prevention of Family Violence Act 2018. Our role is to prevent all forms of family violence and violence against women before they happen, by driving evidence-informed primary prevention.

Respect Victoria is officially recognised as a Statutory Authority - fulfilling Recommendation 188 of the Royal Commission into Family Violence. We have a direct line to decision-makers in government and community, and the independence to drive evidence-informed primary prevention.
