A violence-free Victoria.

It all starts with respect.

Who we are

Respect Victoria is an organisation dedicated to the primary prevention of all forms of family violence and violence against women. Our focus is stopping violence before it starts, by changing the norms, practices and structures that allow it to happen.

Our role

We are an independent Statutory Authority established under the Prevention of Family Violence Act 2018. Our role is to prevent all forms of family violence and violence against women before they happen, by driving evidence-informed primary prevention.

Community

Informed by research and evidence, our social marketing campaigns build community awareness of the drivers of all forms of family violence and violence against women. Learn more about our work to build communities based on respect.

Research

Victoria is working hard to prevent family violence. We are gathering evidence-informed primary prevention data and leading research to support policy makers and practitioners in government, industry, organisations and communities.
